Were you always planning to be a Financial Advisor and why?

Yes-I have always enjoyed learning about investments and enjoy sharing my knowledge with clients. I believe and also personally experienced that a well diversified portfolio can assist clients in achieving financial success with ease.

 

When meeting with clients do they mostly come to your own premises or do you mostly go their theirs?

My clients come to my office, Virtual meetings

Email, Phone, Skype

Yes

 

What do you love most about being a financial advisor

Knowing that the advice that I give makes a difference in clients lives. There is no greater reward for me than celebrating with my clients when they achieve their financial goals.

 

Would you recommend becoming a financial advisor as a career for school-leavers, and why?

It is a rewarding career which allows you to bring sustainable life time change in clients lives.

 

What qualities should South Africans be looking for in their financial advisor?

Knowledge, trust, honesty, service and accountability.

 

What is the biggest challenge facing financial advisors today?

The negative reputation in the industry. The perception that Financial Advisers are sales people selling products. Lack of professionalism in the industry.

 

What aspects of financial advising do you focus on most?

Holistic financial planning with wealth creation as my area of specialisation.

Business owner or individual who is serious about achieving their financial goals.

 

How far away from your premises is your furthest client?

Even though I am based in Johannesburg, I work with national and international clients and expats too.

 

From your financial advising experience, if you could cite one of the biggest reasons financial goals, what would it be?

Discipline and lack of knowledge around financial matters

Do you think the coming wave of automation in the next few years will steal some financial advisor jobs and why/why not?

No-clients still prefer dealing with a individual (face to face or virtually) and building a relationships of trust.

 

What is your opinion on Bitcoin?

Love it or hate it-it is here to stay and does have a role to play in the diversification of a clients portfolio.

 

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

Water color painting, Netflixing & Cooking

 

What is the most interesting thing on your bucket list?

Do the route 66 road trip in the US.
